Emotional Times

I have not been on here really the past month except to post links.  I hope you all don't mind those.  The Philips ones are ones that have something that my husband does in his job with Philips.  The other ones are articles that my oldest boyfriend writes.  I will continue to do them as I find these very informative.

Back in March my husband, my youngest and I went on a road trip to Texas.  The week before that my son was home from college.  It was great to see him.  We celebrated his 21st birthday.  I can't believe he is that old.

When we left for Texas it was 6:30 in the morning.  We drove to Tulsa, Oklahoma.  That first day was uneventful.  The second day we drove to Houston and went to their aquarium.  We were disappointed for the price.  It was geared more to elementary aged children not a 17 year old.  It was still nice.  After that we went to our hotel.  The next day we went to the Houston Space Center.  It was good but not as good as Kennedy Space Center to me.  My husband loved both.  K. was okay about it.  After that we went to Houston's Stock Rodeo and Fair.  It was HUGE.  The rodeo was good and the concert after was music that K loves but we are not big fans of.  The AQHA and APHA had some contests there also.  The 4H had some contests also.  On Thursday my husband spent the morning with a fellow Project Manager for the Houston area.  When he was down we drove down to Galveston.  K and I went on a horse riding beach trail ride.  It was great.  We saw in the news that two days later there was a oil spill right there.  Friday was Dallas.  We went to the Depository where Oswald stood and fired the shots that killed JFK.  For my husband and I it was very moving.  Then home.

The following weekend we went Grand Rapids, Michigan.  K is going to Davenport University there.  We got a tour of the campus and she took two tests to see if she needs to take those classes.  Then back home after nine hours of driving just one way.

My husband developed cellulitis in his leg that had the graft taken for his bypass surgery four years ago.  Then he got a allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics he was taking.  Later that week his mother fell at the nursing home.  They brought her into the emergency room and did a CAT scan.  It showed bleeding in the brain.  The next day she was unresponsive.  The doctor thought his mom would never recover.  As of yesterday, she is eating some and saying some words.  The next step is for therapy.

While she was in the hospital, I had a endoscopy done.  They used a balloon to stretch my esphogaus in two spots.  I hope this fixes my acid problem.

Here are a couple of pictures from our trip.

Hockey Writer Links

Very interesting article.  I didn't know that about hockey.  I wonder how true this is.  It will be interesting to see if any of those players win it or not.
