Searching for an additional leaser

About two months ago, K and I were able to notice that our current leaser Collette was a busy lady.  She wanted to come out a lot to ride Dinah but found it difficult.  K knew that I would still be busy with work, regular chores and my mother.  We decided that another leaser would be the best thing for our horse.  So we began the process again.  K still had a month before going off to college but if the past was an indication as to how this time would go, it would be some time before finding one.  In addition, even if we did find one, it gave K an opportunity to be here to answer any questions that person would have.

As time went one, we found to gals that were interested.  One who is about 25 and the other 16.  The problem with both is that they really have never ridden before, have never taken lessons.  The nice person I am could not say no.  So both gals started taking lessons with Dee just like our previous leaser.  Once the first one is ready to ride on her own and lease, the person would.

Things were going okay until a month ago.  The older one stopped coming out and taking lessons.  It would be over a week before I would receive a text from her.  The other one is in school and has less time to perfect her riding skills.

K and I have decided to looking for another leaser that can start riding on their own right away.  Dinah, our horse, needs the exercise and attention from someone that knows what they are doing.

I hope it won't be long before I will be writing on here that we have another one.  Oh the ups and downs of owning a animal.

Family Weekend

Onward to our second Family Weekend at Southwest Minnesota State University.

This year we had our oldest along instead of our youngest.  Once we arrived A showed his sister, M, his room.  He was proud.  M enjoyed seeing it.  We left to go to a improv but were three minutes late.  The movie wasn't for about an hour so M got a tour of the campus.  M was impressed and excited with all of the activities her brother could participate in.  We then went to see the movie and it was fun.  My husband was hungry so we went to Applebee's.  M was going to do the run the next morning so we went to our rooms.

The next morning we went to breakfast and then M did the run.  After that we had lunch with our families and even had the president of the college sit at the table for a little bit.  It was great to hear her thoughts and that in her opinion the Creative Writing department is the best.  Some of the professors have even had books published.  Makes us feel great about this college.

My husband helped A rearrange his room and off to do some shopping.  Off to supper then home.

It was a great weekend and to see M and A hanging out.  It has been a very long time since it was just the two of them.

Now for A to get a job there at school.  Such a happy and proud parent.  God sure has blessed us.

School time is here again

Well, my husband and I have successfully taken two children to college and have them settled in their routines.

A is in his second year at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.  He has one more year after this one and then time to find a job to support himself.  He has a small room to himself but shares a bathroom with a young man.  A has his own sink but the toilet and shower are between the two rooms.  Last year it was so hot they opened the Student Center for the kids to sleep in that didn't have air conditioner.  This year my son has a/c but it has been on the cooler side.  I was very excited for him.  It was a tough summer with no job, no money and nothing to do.  He did make the best of it.

K and I didn't find another leaser for our horse.  Two girls wanted to but our trainer said that they were brand new to riding that they needed weeks of lessons.  I set up the same program as our past leaser.  These two gals take lessons and come out another day to bond with Dinah.  They pay for lessons and then pay me a small amount to be with my horse.  I don't know how long they need to take lessons but that is up to our trained, Dee.

Now comes the hard part of the last week of summer.  It was getting my youngest ready to move to college.  It takes about eleven hours to drive there from our home.  K and I had lunch with her grandma and also two friends that have horses also.  We move K into her room.  It is like an apartment.  There are four girls, four bedrooms, a small living area and two bathrooms.  We were there Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  On Monday we did a few more things then left for home.  While K was doing things with her Pack, we went to Lake Michigan and drove around Grand Rapids some.  We both have never been to this part of Michigan before.  K was a little teary eyed.  That made it hard on me.  My husband was already emotional.  On Tuesday, I was crying.  I thought I was going to enjoy it but now it was hard.  Since then it has been easier.

Updates coming on Family weekend at Southwest Minnesota State University.

Minnesota Wild’s Darcy Kuemper dilemma a no-win situation

Minnesota Wild’s Darcy Kuemper dilemma a no-win situation

Very good article.

I have to wonder about the Minnesota Wild lately.  It seems everything is about money.  You have to wonder about all of these major sport teams.  Do they save money and go with those players that aren't worth it?  Aren't they really in it to win?  I just love to watch and don't really care about the rest.

What do you all think?

P.S.  If you like this writer, forward his articles.  Every writer deserves to have his writings get exposure to make a living, just like all artist.

I hope the Wild do have a great season and make it to the playoffs again.
