Orlando

I went to Florida!!!!!!!  The company my husband works for was holding a company wide meeting.  Actually just a bunch of seminars.  It was at the Orlando World Center Marriott.  I had worked enough hours during the holidays to pay for my airfare and my meals and a day at Epcot.

This place was huge.  About five different restaurants, but very expensive.  The first day there was great.  It was warm and sunny.  I just laid by the pool the whole day.  The water in the pool was cold though.  Of course I got sunburned.  The next day was cloudy and somewhat windy.  It felt cooler, but I found a pool that was somewhat heated.  That night there was a thunderstorm.  I stayed inside and watched the Olympics.  The next was cooler and very windy.  The perfect day for Epcot.  Once I got there, I wished I had dressed a little warmer.  That wind really made it feel colder.  I enjoyed myself there since I could see what I wanted to, when I wanted to and for how long.  As a mom, that is something I rarely get to do.

The last day.  It is Valentines Day.  The seminars are over but we are staying an extra day.  We decided to go for a walk around the whole place.  After that we went to the pool and just laid in the sun.  My husband read a book the whole time.  We had dinner at their Italian restaurant.  We each got a complimentary glass of champagne with a raspberry in it and a small place of four chocolate truffles.  What a night.  The first time in many, many years that we have had that.

We head home the next day.  At the airport there are so many travelers it was unbelievable.  The reason for this was all the weather and people being stranded.  We get to our gate and they were announcing that anyone could upgrade for just $100.  We looked at each other and said yes.  What a perfect ending to the vacation.  Here are a couple of pictures.
