MEXICO

My husband and I finally went to a all-inclusive resort in Mexico.  And without the kids and not with one of his work meetings.  Yeah, only three times in almost thirty-two years of marriage.

The first day was pretty good.  I did have a sinus headache due to the heat.  The next day we sat through four employees asking us questions.  The last person took us to the restaurant that had a breakfast buffet.  By this time, it was mid morning and we hadn't eaten yet.  After we eat, we got a tour of the "Privelge" side of the resort.  We got a pitch to become members of that chain of hotels.  The cost, let's just say it is liking taking out a car loan to pay for it.  Now, my headache was back and gotten worse, I tried to excuse myself but the lady thought I was faking it.  By the time we left, It was almost noon and I just wanted to sleep.  The rest of the day spending walking around the resort so we knew where everything was.

The third day we did a tour of the Mayan ruins in the town called Tulum.  There were about four or five couples with us and a great guide named Mario.  The drive there was kind of long but saw a part of Mexico we hadn't seen.  The poverty is still prevalent.  It is hard to believe with the fancy resorts along the beach.  The ruins site was wonderful.  Our guide was funny but very informative.  I love seeing historical places.  Don't always agree with what happened but I believe we all need to know these things.

The last two days we either spend by the beach or the pools.  We figured since we were where it was 40 degrees warmer than back at home, we should get lots of sun rays.

The food was great, four or five restaurants along with a coffee shop that my husband lived at.  My allergies decided to make it loud hello and caused me to develop a cold.  About half of the time I slept.  I think I will need to do this again.

Here are a couple of pictures.
